such as Day of Knowledge, World Day of Beauty in September, Teacher’s Day,

Our life sometimes is funny and sometimes is sad but, in general, it is wonderful and beautiful, because life is the most precious thing in life.

Pupil 1. In September we celebrate a lot of holidays and dates, but the best-known are Day of Knowledge, which is on the first of September, World Day of Beauty – on the ninth of September, the less-known holidays are the finish New Year or Rosh Hashana.

RoshHashana is believed to be a day of judgment for the finish people, when God reviews reports by Satan on all creatures.

Pupil 2.“ Give peace a chance ” seems to be a popular theme for days of commemoration.

There are days set aside to honourthe Nobel Peace prize winners as well as days or “ gratitude” and “ stopping the violence ”. Now, the United Nations sets aside the third Tuesday in September as a day to commemorate the idea of peace among all nations and people.

Pupil 1. On the 21st of September Americans celebrate World Gratitude Day. On this day, they gather with friends and family member and share a cup of tea or a meal. They sit during a few minutes in silence, turn their thoughts inward, get in touch with their feelings, and are grateful.

Pupil 2. I walk in beauty, like the night,

Like a princess in the skies

Pupil 1. I suppose, Beauty awakes the soul to act. Beauty is mysterious!

God and Devil are fighting there, and the battlefield is the heart of man.

Pupil 2. So, dear, try to avoid thinking about what you are not: “I am not happy, not rich, not good-looking”. In stead think what you are: I am joyful, I am happy,I am beautiful!”

(The children are dancing)

Children: Be beautiful and charming every day!

Pupil 1. Remember, remember this day in September!

Dear friends, autumn is rich in merry holidays and, of course, in sad dates. The sad day is the 11th of September. It became sad for the whole mankind…

The world has changed after this day.

Pupil 2. 4 minutes of silence… In this way people in New York, Washington, in Shanks Ville, Pennsylvania commemorated the anniversary of tragic event of the 11th of September 2001.

All the names of innocent victims in international Trade Centre were real during the Memorial ceremony in New York.30,000 people gathered for the service in Shanks Ville, Pennsylvania. President Bush personally opened the rebuilt wall of the Pentagon as the symbol of the cheered up America. Tens of millions Of Americans were carrying national Flags and candles to commemorate and pray for the perished.

Pupil 1. I’d like to recite a note from the diary of my elder sister about that tragic day.

“One day I didn’t want to do my homework. My mother said that if I didn’t do my homework, I wouldn’ t watch a very interesting film. I got very angry with her words. When my mum went to the kitchen, I switched on TV.I saw the world news. I saw America. I saw two huge buildings in the clouds of fire and black smoke. They were burning. A lot of people had perished. Lots of mothers were saving their children not wishing them to die. I was crying when Isaw those episodes. Poor people!

Somebody’s mothers, fathers and grandparents were killed and died. A lot of children became orphans.

After that I switched off the television. My mother came to me. I only said that I loved her and went to my room. I understood that my family is the most important thing for me ...”

After reading I sat in silence andcried.I hate terrorism, and, I hope, this loathsome phenomenon will be fought.

SUFFERING

The buildings of sadness,

The buildings of cry.

The buildings of horror.

The dust in the sky.

The kids are suffering.

The adults are praying.

“Oh, Lord! What’s this for?” –

They are saying…

They are praying for peace

With deep pain in their eyes.

It’s so hard to hear their heavy sighs

They are praying for peace,

Peace whole world through

And wish all this terror wasn’t true .

The panic and terrible cry of the mothers.

Who lost their children.

The do not see others,

That, too, lost the children forever.

And never ,the kids of those pregnant will see their fathers.

Suffering, sorrows will live in the souls.

Dreams of a peaceful life – and achieve your goals.

Pupil 1. Nobody should be forgotten, nothing…

But it’s difficult to understand people who are ready to kill thousands of innocent people, break families ,leave children parentless or take kids from mothers because of their dislike or hatred to the USA…

Pupil 2. Charity, kindness, generosity… It seems that these human values are not popular now, but not for her. This woman became famous for her charity work and service to the poorest people. She was the angel for them.

Mother Teresa. Her life is also connected with autumn. On the 5thof September her big heart has stopped beating and the whole world has lost its angel.

Pupil 1. But we all remember her wise message about value of human life.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.

Life is a beauty, admire it.

Life is a bliss, taste it.

Life is a dream, realize it.

Life is a challenge, meet it.

Life is a duty, complete it.

Life is a game, play it.

Life is costly, care for it.

Life is wealth, keep it.

Life is love, enjoy it.

Life is a mystery, know it.

Life is a promise, fulfill it.

Life is a sorrow, overcome it.

Life is a song, sing it.

Life is a struggle, accept it.

Life is a tragedy, confront it.

Life is an adventure, dare it.

Life is luck, made it.

Life is too precious, don’t destroy it.

Life is life, fight for it.

Pupil 2. There is one thing we are know for sure is that life is very precious and none of us is getting any younger. And because the care for aging people is lacking in many parts of the world, the United Nations proclaimed the first of October International Day for the Elderly.

Pupil 1. Old age is not a disease it’s strength and survivorship, triumph over all kinds of disappointment, trials and illnesses. So, “Happiness is being a grandparent” reads many a bumper sticker. As grandparents, older relatives seem to get the best of both worlds: they can play with their adorable grandchildren, but still leave the heavy disciplining to the parents.

Pupil 2. There is no doubt at all that grandparents are indeed a blessing from the Lord! They bring special memories to our minds and hearts. What a wonderful gift grandparents are!

Not just to grandkids but to parents too.

Pupil 1. King Solomon said, “Train a child in the way he will not turn from it. And today we want you listen to a poem of our former Ukrainian teacher Korchynska Hanna Yakivna about the happiness being a grandparent.

Pupil 2. Thank you, dear teachers, for your words, for your great knowledge and a big soul. And now these adorable kids will sing a funny rap-song for you!

RAP-SONG

1. I like my granny

She is the best

She wears clothes

From West.

I like my grandpa

He pierced his nose

And now my grandpa

Became me close.

2. I like my grandma

She is so cool

Sometimes she goes

Instead of me to school.

3. I like my grandpa

He’s an open heart

I go to disco

And he is my part.

4. And my grandmother

Listen to Sting

To see him personally

She always dreams

5. Love your grandparents

Love them all

They are your friends

At all! At all!

Pupil 1. After World War II the world’s leaders wanted to create an international

organization in order to prevent future war.T hey began to discuss this questionin 1944. And in a year 50 nations gathered in San Francisco to discuss the document – the United Nation Charter. In 1944, it was signed, and on the 24th of October in 19945 this document was ratified. Now this day is celebrated as UNO Day.

Pupil 2. We live in the world but it’s so small! Let’s take care of it and remember that it’s so small!

IT’S A SMALL WORLD

It’s a world of laugher,

It’s a world of tears,

There’s so much that we share

That it’s time we’re aware

It’s a small world after all.

There is just one moon

And one golden sun,

And a smile means friends hip to everyone

Though the mountains divide

And the oceans are wide,

It is a small world after all

It is a small world!..

Pupil 1. “Trick or treat” ring the cries of costumed children on Halloween, also known as All Hallows Eve, a Christian festival of All Saints. Origins of the day, however, date back to ancient autumn pagan festivals celebrated by the Druids at the beginning of November. Theselegendary priests believed that spiritsroamed the Earth on the last night of October. To scare them awaythe Druids lit bonfires.

Pupil 2.This holiday is mostly celebrated by children, who, in a tradition commonly known as trick-or-treating, dress in costumes and go door-to-door to collect sweets, fruit and other gifts. Other traditional activities in cludecostume parties, watching horror films, visiting “haunted houses” and participating in traditional autumn activities.

(The witches introduce themselves in a funny way)

Pupil 2. By the way, you may ask our guests any questions you like. They have a lot of information about everything connected with this holiday. Come on!

Pupils. When was first Halloween celebrated?

Witch 1.It was first celebrated many centuries ago in Ireland and Scotland by Celtic priests called Druids. They thought that Halloween was the night when the witches came out.

Pupils.I wonder, were they afraid of witches?

Witch 2.Of course, they were afraid of witches as any other people! So they put on different clothes and painted their faces to deceive the evil spirits.

Pupils. Asfar as I know on Halloween children go from house to house and say “Trick or treat”. What do these words mean?

Witch 3. Oh, it’s a good question. In old times Druids placed food and small gifts near the doors of their houses for witches. And this was the beginning of the expression “trick or treat”. It means “give me something or I’ll play a trick on you”.

Pupils. And what about the United States of America? How is Halloween celebrated in this country?

Witch 4.It’s considered that Halloween was brought to America by the immigrants from Ireland and Scotland. The integral part of the festival was lantern made of a pumpkin. People believed that during celebration all pumpkins were leaving their vegetable gardens to dance in the streets.

Witch 5.And now I want to ask you, what for did people bring pumpkins on their festival? Why do Americans put pumpkins near the door or even hang them over the doorway?

Pupils.People hang pumpkins over the doorway because they think that it’s the best way to frighten the evil spirits off.

Teacher.By the way, how is this pumpkin called?

Pupils.It’s called Jack-o’-Lantern.

Teacher. Does anybody know how to make Jack-o’-Lantern?

Pupils. No problem. You need a large pumpkin and a knife. Cut off a piece from the top. Then you cut out the eyes, nose and a mouth, and after all put a candle inside the lantern. Look, you can see the candle light through the eyes, nose and mouth.

Teacher. Oh, it’s lovely! Thank you!

Pupil.I believe you’ve got tired. Here’s a lovely music for you. Let’s get moving! Listen and dance!

LOOBY-LOO

(Witches are dancing)

Here we dance Looby-Loo

Here we dance Looby-Light

Here we dance Looby-Loo

All on a Saturday night.

You put your right hand in,

You put your left hand out,

You give your hand a shake, shake, shake

And turn yourself around! Oh!

You put your left hand in,

You put your right hand out,

You give your hand a shake, shake, shake

Turn yourself around! Oh!

You put your right foot in,

You put your left foot out,

You give your foot a shake, shake, shake

(The solemn music is playing. Tom and Becky appear on the stage.)

Becky: The year has turned its circle,

The seasons come and go.

The harvest is all gathered in

And chilly north winds blow.

Orchards have shared their treasures,

The fields their yellow grain,

So open wide the doorway –

Thanksgiving comes again!

Tom:Welcome pupils, welcome teachers, welcome dear guests! Welcome to the most interesting British holiday! Welcome to Thanksgiving Day!

Becky:Excuse me, Tom, but ….are you sure that Thanks givingis a British holiday?

Tom:Of course, no doubt about it.

Becky:Well…But I have always thought that Thanksgiving is celebrated only in America.

Tom:Oh, yes, of course in America, but…

Becky:But…?

Tom:But the British people began to celebrate it.

Becky:That’s right. But they celebrated it in America.

Tom:You know, Becky, you’ve mixed all my thoughts.

Becky:And I think it’s because you don’t work hard during your History classes.

Tom:Yeah, but I always have this book with me (demonstrates the Book on American History).

Becky:Oh, let’s open this magic book of the US history and find the answer to our question.

(They open the book to the sounds of music)

Tom:Look, Becky, that’s it, … “… Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday in November, a different date every year. It is a day when family members gather for a reunion at the house of an older relative”. All give thanks for the god things that they have.

Becky:American children like this holiday very much. They can watch parades on TV on Thanksgiving. The largest parade is in New York. It’s famous for giant balloons of favorite comic a

nd story book characters. Let’s have fun too!

FUN ACTIVITIES

1. Let’s see how strong we are. Throw soft darts in turns. Are you ready? Let’s begin!

2.Are Pilgrims good farmers? Who can crack corn quicker?

3. Pass the turkey around the circle as you say:

Pass the turkey down the table.

Eat it all if you are able.

I see aunt and uncle Lucky.

They will eat up all the turkey.

When the poem ends, the pupils, holding the turkey, leaves the game.

Tom:Thanksgiving Day has become a pure American holiday, which means that a man is capable to survive through all hardships with the help of Lord. It’s a good example for many nations and lands in the world and for us as well. I think we, Ukrainians, should be thankful for all the wonderful thinks our life has given us. We’ve got a wonderful picture of the sun; in each ray of the sun you can write things you are thankful for this year.

(Some pupils write down the thanks on the rays of the sun.)

Pupil 1:Dear guests, we are really thankful for your coming and enjoying our party. We would like you to remember that you are special. Thank your life for each year, each month, each day, each moment you have lived through. Be happy!
