Linear department in river port «Dnepropetrovsk» carries out operative maintenance of water area the river Dnepr and its tributaries on territory. Routes of patrolling are over 740 km.
The main task of its activity is fighting against poachers, providing of safety of navigation, timely stopping of crimes in industry of economy, landed relations and guard of natural environment.
Three rapid motor boats patrol the territory and instantaneous react on criminal offences and other events. Special attention is paid to drunken navigators.
Speed motor boat is represented with«UMS- 450».This motor boat is equipped by the modern 4-stroke engine - «SUZUKI» with power 70 horse\ forces that allows speeding up to 75 km/h. A motor boat is equipped by flash lights and sonic depth finders. For transporting overland specially made for this model of motor boats motor-car trailers are used. They allow to use these water transport vehicles in difficult places for accessing, and also for a secret movement to the places of the special law enforcement operations.

Militia battalion of special purpose “Bercut”
History of creation of the special subdivision of militia of the rapid reacting has been begun since 1980 year.
This was Olympic year, when sporting Olympiad was organized in Moscow. Experience of the Olympic German city Munich (1972) was taken to attention. It was terrible event when terrorists shot Israel command. That is why decision was to create special mobile detachment on the base of Moscow militia. Afterwards this subdivision began to be named as detachment of militia of the special purpose. The main task was fighting against terrorism, gangsters, detention of especially dangerous and armed criminals, release of hostages.
The battalion consists of six companies, five from which are located in Dnepropetrovsk and one in Creavoy Rog in Dnepropetrovsk region. Level of strength of subdivision is 370 persons, including 365 persons of the attested stuff.
Today dog subdivision has 20 official dogs of such breeds as Caucasian, Asiatic, Alsatian sheep dogs, giant schnauzer ['ʃnaʊzə]. The battalion militiamen- dog trainers train dogs for detention of criminals, searching of drugs and weapon, and also for the actions in the conditions of public disorder and hooligans.
Battalion “Bercut” has 75 units of official motor transport, 42 patrol cars “Patriot” and “Ssang Yong”, 2 cars for guard room, 10 cars for transporting of duty order, 4 passenger busses, 1 staff bus, 2 minibuses, 2 freight side car, 3 armoured troop-carriers, one car is a movable communication center.
Every patrol car is equipped with the system of satellite supervision of GPS, which gives possibility constantly to control the location of crew and decrease time of the operative reacting on committed offences and crimes. It also has a digital camera and first aid set for the first medical aid (the proper sign testifies on the wind screen).
