GRAMMAR COMMENT: Form of the Passives
| We form the passive using bein an appropriate tense or form + the past participle of the transitive verb. A small money was stolen from the cash box. Not all be + ed forms are passive. They may be adjectives. The man has been depressed since the TV broke down. |
