Presentation of grammar construction “There is/There are” and the plural form of nouns.

 

The plural form of a noun is usually ends with the ending “-s”

Singular form Plural form

Note: there are some exception nouns which don’t follow the rules:

1. Study the grammar material to get more information from “ Grammar in Use” for elementary and intermediate students, R.Murphy, p142-145.

 

 

2. Find the nouns which are used both in plural and singular form:

Mouse, deer, book, trout, pen, sheep, swine, swung, fish

 

3. Define the nouns below into singular and plural form.

Scissors, teeth, foot, a tooth, a fish, mice, a mouse, people, a person, trousers, pyjamas, jeans, a pair of jeans.

Medical students must know the importance of studying medical clinical lexics to describe clinical picture of a disease, which they’ll study at clinical disciplines.
