Theme:Lexics:My biography. My family.Grammar: verbs “to be” and “to have got”

Aim:didactive aims:

To form following components of competence in students:

Cognitive component:

1. To form knowledge on speaking about yourself, using background knowledge

2. To form knowledge on using verbs “to be” and “to have got”

3. To form knowledge on teaching the students to tell about his/her family and use it in their speech

Practical component:

1. To form translating, reading and writing skills.

2. To form skills of finding necessary information from text, generalizing and interpretation with aims of using in the process of learning and professional communication

Educational component:

To form listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Self educational component:

1. To form skills in working with additional medical literature in mass media.

2. To form skills of enriching vocabulary

3. To form skills the students have to know the lexics and grammar of the theme in order to draw and to speak about their biography and family on the base of a text “About myself”

Tasks of study:

1. To teach students to read and write on the theme

2. To speak on the theme

3. To teach students to make annotation of text

4. To form verbs “to be” and “to have got”

Basic thematic issues:

1. Lexics used in speaking about yourself and describingyour family

2. Formation of verbs “to be” and “to have got”

3. Concentrate their attention on the stress

Methods of teaching: holding practical classes by key part of them presentation of text with usage of making a dialogues; doing test; working with the text, performing practical classes, reading and translating texts, do lexico-grammatical exercises, working with book.

Means of teaching: books, tables, schemes

Actuality of the theme: students have to know importance of learning new lexical minimum and keep them in mind as in professional activity they will face with it.

Objectives:

1. To teach students speaking activities

2. To teach usage of verbs “to be” and “to have got”

3. To develop speaking skills by making dialogues and monologues; reading and translating the text

4. To teach students reading the text with comments and prove their opinions.

Introduction(10 min):

Greeting: - Good morning students! How are you? -Who is absent? Why? What’s up with him/her? Ok!

-Today’s theme is my biography, my family and verbs “to be” and “to have got”and our aim is to form speaking, translating, reading and listening skills, to form skills of finding necessary information from text, generalizing and interpretation with aims of using in the process of learning and professional communication

Main part:

1.Control of initial level knowledge with the help of text or tasks from previous lesson (20 min)

2.Presentation of grammar of theme verbs “to be” and “to have got” (20 min)

 

Grammar: TO BE: positive, negative & short forms, questions

Present tense of “to be”
